Thousands of visitors flock to the Mediterranean metropolis yearly yet very few know that the city of Barcelona in Spain has quite a number of picturesque scenes that are totally worth your trip. While there are lots of places in Barcelona worthy of a slot in your cameras memory, there certainly has to be a few spots that tower right above the rest right? You could tour the entire city of Barcelona in a bid to spot these places and quite frankly you just might find a few or you could simply read this article to the end and find the top five best places for photos in Barcelona. Here’s my top five
- Park Guell
- Casa Batllo
- Tibidabo Mountain
- Sagrada Familia
- Gothic Quarter

Park Guell: Let’s talk about the Park Guell without drooling over it even when it is worth the drooling. With incredible shapes and gorgeous tiles, this place is arguably the best spot in all of Barcelona to steal a snap. Often touted as one of Barcelona’s greenest areas, both visitors and locals love to visit this iconic spot. With its modernist architecture designed by the master architect Antoni Gaudi, the Park Guell boasts some of Barcelona and Spain’s most fantastic views.
A regular camera makes good for a great snap but if you are like me and you like to freeze all your special moments into an unforgettable picture then you want your photos taken by a professional.

Casa Batllo: Yet another Antoni Gaudi masterpiece, the Casa Battlo is situated in the popular shopping street Passeig de Gracia. I personally think fairy tale movies get their ideas from this famous building. Curved edges, bright colors and windows that make you want to go “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your golden hair” … really it does. You most definitely want to get a perfect camera shot of this spot in Barcelona. Oh, and did I mention it has a colorful dragon scale roof?

Tibidabo Mountain: There’s a hippy feel to the name that makes me like it or maybe because it is the highest peak in the city of Barcelona. Looking for the perfect spot for those panoramic snaps of Barcelona you crave so much? Then Tibidabo Mountain is just the right spot. Offering 360° views of the city, this mountain houses the oldest amusement park in all of Europe, right at the top of it. I can’t convince you any more than Tibidabo can. Say cheese!

Sagrada Familia: Amazing architect Antoni Gaudi is credited with its design and is often said to be not just his most famous work but also the most visited monument in all of Barcelona and Spain. This magnificent basilica was built solely on funds donated by the general public. “Do not judge a book by its cover” has never been more wrong as in the case of the Sagrada Familia, because it boasts an exterior with gorgeously stained glass windows that simply welcomes you to an even more marveling interior. In all of the beauty Sagrada Familia holds, there are just two things missing here… you and a professional photographer.

Gothic Quarter: Finally, the Gothic Quarter, stretching from the La Rambla to Via Laietena and from the Mediterranean seafront to Ronda de Sant Pere, this picturesque spot is said to be the center of the old city of Barcelona. With some of it buildings dating as far back as the medieval times, this spot makes for a good view and a snapshot with history. The Gothic Quarter also called Barri Gotic by the locals is Barcelona’s cultural hub and the first choice for tourist in Barcelona.

There are quite a few honorable mentions such as the:
- Las Ramblas
- Port Olimpic
- Placa Espanya
- Montjuic Hill
- Mercado de la Boqueria
- Major
- Raval
