The city of love is also the most visited city in the world and arguably the most photogenic with countless instantly recognisable features, we compile the ultimate list of the best places for photos in Paris. Including some of the most beautiful and creative locations. Whether it is to simply hone your photography skills or to capture the family in around this diverse city, we have you covered.
Galeries Lafayette is an upmarket department store in Paris’ 9th arrondissement. The store is worthy of a visit in itself, if only for its architecture. The main hall has the most beautiful stained glass dome roof nestled high above the designer clothing and home ware.
However, the stores pièce de résistance is its rooftop terrace, follow the escalators all the way to the top and up the stairs. It’s not signposted and you may feel a bit naughty going up the stairs but it’s open to the public. Ask a member of staff if you cant find it.
At the top awaits a stunning view of Paris including a distant view of the Eiffel Tower, breath-taking.
Ok so this is probably a-given, The Eiffel Tower can be seen from almost anywhere in Paris, near and far. It pops up between buildings when riding the train, you’ll see it from your restaurant window or from your apartment, the Eiffel tower takes over most of your photos and views and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture it.
But the best view of Paris is quite simply from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Try to get there early and beat the queues and we recommend walking the stairs, if only for the experience.
