Including some of the most beautiful and creative locations. Whether it is to simply hone your photography skills or to capture the family in around this diverse city, we have you covered.

Galeries Lafayette

Galeries Lafayette is an upmarket department store in Paris’ 9th arrondissement. The store is worthy of a visit in itself, if only for its architecture. The main hall has the most beautiful stained glass dome roof nestled high above the designer clothing and home ware.

However, the stores pièce de résistance is its rooftop terrace, follow the escalators all the way to the top and up the stairs. It’s not signposted and you may feel a bit naughty going up the stairs but it’s open to the public. Ask a member of staff if you cant find it.

At the top awaits a stunning view of Paris including a distant view of the Eiffel Tower, breath-taking.

The Louvre Courtyard –

The Louvre’s modern glass pyramid creates a magnificent contrast to its centuries old surroundings (the Louvre Palace). It is also a great place to people watch and snap photos of interesting characters going about their business.

Go at night to see the pyramids glow and the palace reflecting from the water, with the added bonus of not as many tourists you’ll see why it makes our list of the best places for photos in Paris.

The Eiffel Tower

Ok so this is probably a-given, The Eiffel Tower can be seen from almost anywhere in Paris, near and far. It pops up between buildings when riding the train, you’ll see it from your restaurant window or from your apartment, the Eiffel tower takes over most of your photos and views and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture it.

But the best view of Paris is quite simply from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Try to get there early and beat the queues and we recommend walking the stairs, if only for the experience.

Pont Alexandre III

This bridge is a Parisian landmark, spanning the River Seine it is widely regarded as the most ornate and extravagant bridge in the city. It offers spectacular views along the Seine with the Eiffel tower in view.

You can also walk along the river itself through access at either end of the bridge, which makes for a romantic stroll with minimal amount of other tourists.

Place de Trocadéro

Overlooking the Eiffel Tower, close enough to admire its height and far enough away to fit it all in frame, Place de Trocadéro is a large square courtyard, which offers the best view of the Tower and easily makes our list of the best places for photos in Paris.

Place de Trocadéro itself is a beautiful location, it sits in front of the Palais de Chaillot with the Jardins du Trocadéro (gardens of the Trocadéro) and its fountains framing your photos.

The Latin Quarter

Offering cobbled streets, quaint cafes and restaurants and French street scenes, The Latin Quarter is perfect for a romantic walk. Relax, catch a bite to eat and observe the beautiful architecture and narrow streets. An excellent place to capture the idyllic Parisian vibe through documentary photography of your loved ones.

Basilica du Sacré-Couer

High on top of a hill sits the Sacré-Couer, overlooking the whole city. It is a little known fact that you can walk the 300 stairs to the top of the Dome, where you’ll be sure to get great pictures with only a handful of others that dared to take on the climb.

The dome offers 360-degree views and we recommend visiting at sunset to get spectacular views of the city bathed in an orange glow.

Jardin du Luxembourg

If you need a change of pace form the busy streets then Luxembourg gardens offers a retreat to unwind and soak up some nature. Located in the 6th arrondissement, the gardens showcase long tree-lined promenades and a model sailing boat lake in front of the palace, perfect for some lifestyle photography. Take a picnic and make a day of it.
