Dress for the occasion by finding a balance between smart and comfortable. Make your photos look timeless by dressing formally
You should also consider your environment and the weather to ensure you will be comfortable at the same time.
Make sure that the groups overall style is consistent in style and colour by avoiding clashing colours and the general feel of everyones outfits are matching. If one of you is going to be wearing a formal outfit then a casual outfit for anyone else is best avoided.
Compliment each others outfits by matching colours in small details, a pocket square for him that matches her dress or a scarf for her that matches his tie. However, try not to match too closely by having large items in the same colour.
You might be a little nervous about being in front of a camera, we understand. We can guarantee those nerves will disappear as soon as you meet your photographer and you’ll be having so much fun the time will fly.
We highly recommend gathering some inspirations shots to show your photographer on the day. It will also help you understand what you want and what to do to get those natural shots.
Smile, laugh, hold your partner, interact with the city, just be confident and it will shine through in every photo. Don’t feel like you have to look at the camera for every shot either, candid shots are the way to go for great photos.
Things to avoid
*Keep your photos timeless by avoiding outfits with logos, graphic prints and/ or text. All black or white outfits are not recommended as they will make it difficult for the photographer to capture detail.
* If one of you is wearing a patterned outfit then the other should wear more of a plain, block coloured one. This will help to avoid the photo looking too busy.
*Try to keep personal items to a minimum. Carrying items will limit the photographers ability to snap candid photos. They will of course offer to carry your items but they will also have their own equipment to carry.
